Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Advisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Telecommunications QHSE Advisor to join the Comvergent team on a permanent basis. The advisor will be able to support the team remotely for the time being with a preferred location near the Chester office.

General duties:

The QHSE Advisor’s role is to support the maintenance of ISO/OHSAS standards within the business and to support the QHSE Manager by ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained, in proactively performing quality and safety audits and implementing improvement actions as appropriate. The QHSE Advisor will provide advice, support and guidance to employees and assist managers to maintain a safe working environment, whilst also meeting or exceeding client requirements when necessary. To assist the QHSE Manager with the implementation & integration of any new services and/or resources to deliver the client requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to delivery teams to ensure RAMS completion is compliant to support project delivery.
  • Assist in the maintenance of quality, environmental, safety and security standards within deployed resource in order to manage compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the completion and resolution of internal and external audits in line with Comvergent and client requirements.
  • Assist in investigating issues and non-compliance through inspection and audit, project work, and accident and near-miss investigation.
  • Manage and foster relationships with key client contacts as well as relationships between the group business and deployed resources both internal and subcontract.
  • Identifying solutions to offer clients to extend our existing services or improve the quality of current services and recommending these to appropriate Heads of Services.
  • Upkeep of electronic records to track deployed assets and/or material.
  • Assist in the calibration and/or certification of assets and safety equipment.
  • Complete PPE & LOLER equipment formal inspections and provide accurate inspection information.
  • Checking and signing off Risk Assessments & Method Statements from delivery teams.
  • QHSE Advisor experience and qualifications

  • At least 2 years telecoms project management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and problem solve in stressful situations.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Takes a logical and orderly approach to analysing problems, organizing work and planning actions.
  • Current knowledge of network technologies across fixed and mobile infrastructure
  • Workforce management systems development
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Relevant technical skills and experience
  • Relevant Project Management qualification (Desirable)
