Comvergent are seeking a Service Transition Lead for our Broadcasting & Media client based in Winchester. The Service Transition Lead must have previous experience in managing transition of new IT services in to live/production within a Broadcasting organisation.

The Service Transition Lead will be responsible for;

  • Development of Service Acceptance criteria
  • Document clear, concise format including Service Design Packs, Transition Plans, Process Flows.
  • Produce Management Information and Reports detailing progress of activity
  • Management of Risks and Issues, tracking and progression to closure
  • Identification and management of Continual Service Improvement opportunities
  • Use of general IT Service Management toolsets such as Remedy or Service Now.

Essentials are:

  • 3+ years as a Service Design or Service Transition job title either as analyst, manager or lead
  • Previous working history in a broadcast and media organisation
  • ITIL Service Design or Service Transition Intermediate qualification
  • Managed the move of project deliverables in to operational support
  • Written Support Models, Service Design packages & other documentation supporting the go-live of new services
  • Evidence of working with support teams, service desks, engineers to ensure readiness for go-live and handover of new technology in to support
  • Able to interpret contract or Service Level Agreements in order to deduce support provisions from third parties

Broadcast Support Engineer

Our client, a leading Broadcast & Media organisation located in London is seeking an experienced Broadcast Support Engineer who can supervise hardware and broadcast systems that are used across their TV network and provide a ‘systems integrator’ approach to technical support on various systems. They’re seeking an Engineer as opposed to pure Operations support, someone who understand system integration with broadcasting systems and equipment.

Broadcast Support Engineer responsibilities;

  • Technical broadcasting system support including; Playout Center, Studio, Tapeless Production System, Editing Suites, ENG equipment and IT and Network Infrastructure
  • Maintain specialist equipment for video production, broadcast and satellite transmission and interactive media
  • Minimise loss of service when equipment fails by quickly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service to ensure no blackouts
  • Analyze and repair technical faults on equipment and systems
  • Setting up and operating editing facilities for post production
  • Setting up and operating equipment and transmission links outside live broadcasts

Broadcast Support Engineer background & skills

  • Minimum of 3 years in Broadcasting, but preferably more than 5 years
  • Strong technical understanding of broadcasting systems, specifically in key areas such as;
    • Production Systems / Studio equipment; Camera, Vision Mixers, Audio Mixers etc
    • Playout Automation Systems
    • Systems used in Newsroom environments
  • Strong Systems Integration background
