Job Title – OSS/BSS Solution Architect

Job Location – Guildford, Surrey (Moving to Reading in October)

Job Role:

  • Be capable of operating in a senior role working closely with customer and delivery teams, and be capable of operating alone and unsupervised if necessary.
  • Be responsible for customer solutions (CSR) and engagements
  • Able to work with Programme Director, Programme managers and Enterprise Architect to define roadmap and strategies for customer deliveries
  • Be capable of performing requirements management, stakeholder management, and elements of delivery and project management activities
  • Be technical interface towards customer for pre sales and delivery OSS tools & Systems projects
  • Provide a comprehensive end to end architecture for the stakeholders business and technical requirements. Ensuring the solution aligns across the business for people, process and systems domains
  • Lead teams of internal and third party solution architects and subject matter experts to scope the delivery of services required to design, deploy, configure, integrate, test and operate IT and tools solutions in the OSS/BSS space.
  • Participate in meetings with customers on roadmap, architecture and solution issues
  • Together with the project manager, support escalations from a technical viewpoint, either related to part of the Ericsson delivery, or a technical dependency.
  • Analyse scope changes throughout project, initially identifying areas of increased scope / scope change, through assessing impacts to cost base / timelines, to supporting the CR process.
  • Identify new business opportunities through customer and project engagements, encourage solution architects to record such opportunities within SDOD and driving such opportunities through to a sale.
  • Lead and perform advisory studies and pre studies or proof of concept demonstrations.
    • Including assisting the customer to document requirements for a new tool and supporting the RFx process to analyse different vendor offerings to select a tool that best matches the business and technical needs, now and in the future.
  • For Solution Support and Life Cycle Management activities, manage the customer relation together with the project manager and ensure that the customer’s expectations on the implemented solution are fulfilled


  • Strong experience of performing a technical design authority and solution architecture role within an IT or telecommunications environment
  • Strong experience of working with OSS network management solutions
  • Strong experience of technically leading complex projects throughout the complete IT lifecycle (Analysis, Architecture, Design, Build, Test & Production)
  • Experience in using TOGAF in an enterprise environment
  • Knowledge and experience of developing a Service Orientated Architecture
  • Knowledge of producing architecture utilising COTS products to fit within industry frameworks
  • Experience in managing & delivering end to end solutions in Service Assurance (Fault Management, Performance Management, Configuration Management, Incident & Problem management, Service Management, Service Analysis, Workforce Management) & Service Fulfilment areas (Radio Planning, Radio Optimisation, Network Provisioning, Inventory Management, Mediation)

Packet Core Solution Architect

Job Title -Solution Architect

Job Location – Guildford, Surrey

Job Role:
The main role of the Solution Architect in this position will be to work on Evolved Packet Core across the Telco Cloud (and often wider Telco Core & Cloud (TCC) Portfolio), having specific expertise to manage the design and onboarding/troubleshooting of Packet Core VNFs into a customer NFVi environment. Expertise and experience of this in the VMWARE Suite (ESX, NSX, vCenter) and/or Openstack is mandatory. The ability to deep dive including hands-on analysis is essential.
This is a delivery focused role (~70-80% of activity), however the Solution Architect will work across the complete sales and delivery cycle from creation of initial demand, through refinement of the proposition, to deployment/delivery of the final solution

  • Technical SPOC for Packet Core VNF introduction in NFVi environments and evolution for 5G.
  • SME on Hypervisors (VMWARE Suite (ESX, NSX, vCenter) mandatory, Openstack)
  • SME for onboarding Packet Core VNFs into customer NFVi environments
  • SME for Packet Core E2E design (HLD/LLD)
  • SME for troubleshooting issues with VNF interworking with NFVi.
  • Drive the solution and design resources and provide leadership to other technical Subject Matter Experts (SME).
  • Managing the solution during delivery including managing customer expectations according to original requirements.
  • Gathering detailed customer requirements to develop into customer solutions and designs (HLD/LLD).
  • Responding to customer RFPs incorporating Solutions Descriptions, Dimensioning
  • Lead Customer presentations and technical workshops.
  • Responding to customer technical questions and managing the technical agenda.
  • Analysing the impact of and feasibility of change requests
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with the solution during delivery and handover.

  • Deep knowledge and experience in design and implementation of Packet Core VNFs (vMME, vPDG, vPCRF etc), with knowledge and experience in the evolution of the EPC to 5G. (5G EPC & 5GC)
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Hypervisors, particularly VMware.
  • Extensive experience and expertise of onboarding and troubleshooting Telco VNFs onto a VMware environment.
  • Specific Expertise in VMware vCloud Director (vCD) and optionally other deployment, automation and management software for virtual infrastructure resources.

Fibre Implementation Manager

Job Title – Fibre Implementation Manager
Job Location – Guildford, Surrey then from October – Reading, Berkshire
Job Role:

  • Plan, lead and coordinate the fibre delivery teams to obtain the best delivery precision within the cost budget and agreed timescales.
  • Control and scheduling of required tasks for internal staff and sub-contractor teams to deliver customer orders and fibre implementations. To include civils, cabling, materials and logistics, local authority engagement, noticing, traffic management, permits and OH&S requirements.
  • Effective operating procedures to be developed and managed with the clients subcontractors and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of all customer orders. Ensure internal customer delivery targets and measurements are supported by back-to-back subcontractor commitments
  • Manage the change control process for customer orders, controlling the variations to design in the field between the subcontractors and Design & Build Team
  • Work closely with all areas of the business to address customer issues or service
  • Provide adequate and timely updates & reports to include measurements on delivery against planned dates, time reduction and quality compliance of test results. To include a daily work progress report and weekly project cost report.
  • To ensure resources, capabilities and capacity to meet both existing and new business demand are in place.
  • Support the internal and subcontractor teams to ensure understanding and adherence to the clients fibre services delivery processes and tools
  • Create and implement a low level time schedule based on milestones agreed in the Customer Contract.
  • Maintain and assure the quality level according to the Customer Contract and the clients Standards.
  • Deliver the project according to the Customer Contract as well as monitor and control implementation and the Deployment Process.
  • Implement and ensure that local regulations relevant for the rollout of the project are followed.
  • Have read and understood the Customer Contract and relevant standards to ensure that deliverables are according to the scope of the contract.
  • Secure the right understanding of the Customer Contract to enable identification and need of Change Orders including report obstacles outside clients control and if needed support the CPM in the negotiation regarding compensation.
  • Continuously gather and update reports regarding Service Provider’s performance and quality (including capacity and competences), to be reported to (A)SP Management and Sourcing.
  • Secure the quality and quantity of the performed work by Service Providers prior to the approval of the invoice specification


  • At least 5 years’ experience of implementation management/delivery of fibre rollout (B2B, FTTx, HFC) projects including design, survey, wayleaves, permitting, civils, cabling and splicing to UK fixed and cable operators
  • Excellent knowledge of NRSWA and Traffic Management requirements for civils and cabling work in public highways
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and up-to-date working knowledge of related legislation
  • Good knowledge of fibre design, survey and as-built requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and customer relationship management skills. Service oriented. Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make appropriate decisions based on knowledge of fibre installation and assurance
  • Logical thinker/problem solver who is self-motivated & confident.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple activities, showing appropriate level of prioritisation and escalation skills
  • Knowledge of Project Management techniques & methodologies – PROPS-C, Prince-II, etc., specifically scope management
