Reporting to the Wireless Deployment Director, the Head of Design will be responsible for leading the design function of the business in preparing solutions to cater for new business opportunities, resourcing existing workstreams and managing delivery performance against agreed budgets.

Our Head of Design would be responsible for;

  • Managing a multiskilled team deployed across a number of project workstreams delivering;
    • Survey (MSV)
    • Feasibility
    • GA
    • Electrical
    • Structural
    • ICNIRP
    • DD
  • Provide knowledge base for all internal and customer design and constructions specs
  • Recruit and develop existing talent, providing leadership and mentoring
  • Support the wireless design capabilities across the group
  • Manage P&L across Design Department
  • Ensure all submitted designs are value engineered to provide best technical and financial solution

We’d be interested in candidates who have;

  • 10+ years experience in the Telecom industry
  • Solid understanding of ICNIRP / RF Principles within Telecommunication Design
  • Understanding of Design Software (AutoCAD)

This role can be performed remotely or from one of our offices across the UK (Chester, Glasgow, Stratford-upon-Avon, Manchester)

Job Description

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated EV Delivery Manager to produce E2E delivery, and have commercial responsibility from initial instruction through to handover & acceptance of the completed site within our EV Charger Deployment vertical. A key requirement of a successful Delivery Manager is to ensure each project is managed and delivered in compliance with CDM 2015 Principal Designer regulatory requirements, demonstrating the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience for previous projects delivered.

The Delivery Manager would be responsible for:

  • Client interface supporting operational and commercial activities. Receiving initial instruction and acting as an escalation point for the client and internally.
  • Ensure commercial performance is aligned with business KPI’s and operational activities (electrical and civils) are fully covered within agreed pricing, whilst ensuring Health & Safety file is established, managed, and maintained.
  • Close liaison between EV Delivery Manager and appointed project Principal Designer to ensure all pre-construction and construction phase CDM regulatory requirements are documented and adhered to.
  • Managing a delivery team environment and ensuring all planning and reporting is timely and accurate.
  • Ownership of the equipment call off processes to support forecasted activities.
  • Responsibility to ensure works are completed in line with design requirements whilst driving quality and right first-time behaviours in all aspects of the delivery process to ensure KPIs are achieved and maintained.
  • Ownership to ensure documentation required Post completion of the activity and is checked and uploaded to within the agreed KPI.
  • Ideal EV Delivery Manager would demonstrate strong sub-contractor performance management skills and experience, whilst providing direct line management to members of the team, develop skill sets and complete PDR’s in line with Comvergent processes.

We’d welcome candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience and knowledge of deployment and delivery projects under CDM2015 Principal Designer or Principal Contractor compliance.
  • Experience of delivering projects that require electrical and civils construction services
  • Commercial and delivery Management of sub-contract resources and suppliers.
  • Strong communicator with professional approach, holding the ability to deliver, work and manage a multi-functional team in a challenging, pressurized, and fast-moving environment.
  • Good knowledge of the Telecommunications industry with experience and knowledge of network deployment and delivery projects

Comvergent (Solutions 30) are looking to bring in a CDM Principal Designer who can support fully compliant CDM 2015 regulations in accordance to our project needs. Secondary duties will require the candidate to support the QHSE Manager with a wide range of Health, Safety and Quality activities giving appropriate subject matter guidance.

Our CDM Principal Designer will;

  • Ensure our clients are informed and understand their duties under current CDM regulations
  • Plan, manage and monitor Health and Safety in pre-construction phase, including identifying, eliminating and controlling foreseeable risks
  • Prepare Health and Safety files and review, updating and revising it as the projects develop
  • Liaise with Principal Contractors to help in the planning of the construction phase
  • Ensure Designers have sufficient skills, knowledge and capability to carry out work
  • Sub-contractor / supplier performance management
  • Document processes and procedures to assist project teams, clients and contractors to understand their duties in relation to CDM status and their concern

We’d be interested in speaking to candidates who have;

  • Minimum 3 years experience and knowledge of deployment and delivery projects as CDM2015 Principal Designer or Principal Contractor
  • Experience in delivering / partaking in projects that require Electrical and Civils construction services
  • A methodological approach to project delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A good understanding of the Telecom industry or Electric Charge points projects
  • Some relevant qualifications/certifications would be desirable; IOSH, NVQ in CDM, CDM Regulations Training

The Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for:

  • Inventory Stock:
    • Identifying new inventory items and booking stock into inventory
    • Processing inventory ‘pick lists’ i.e., issue inventory from stock to engineer/job
    • Managing minimum/maximum levels
    • Confirming supplier pricing, reorder process
  • Logistics movements:
    • Confirming collections/deliveries with PMO
    • Maintaining accurate stock records alongside ensuring correct information is communicated between key stakeholders i.e., PMO, engineers and partners
    • Allocation to suppliers – Quote/PO against relevant job/receipt
  • Improve utilisation i.e., multiple drops/collections per trip to achieve delivery SLA on site

You’ll be working within the heart of our Projects team under the guidance of the Project Coordinator and will primarily be focused on securing permits & arranging site access for our Field Engineers across the UK. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is looking to develop their career in a PMO environment, or someone with 1-3 years’ experience in a role where organisation and planning have been required on a daily basis.

  • Delivery of telecom site construction to desired spec, time and quality
  • Managing and assessment of third party contractors suitability for defined Construction activities

  • Working with Quantity Surveyor on Subcontractor tendering and minimising site costs and variations
